Tracking stores over time
Track a Shopify store in store spy to keep snapshots of its catalogue over time and see how its products and prices change.

Tracking a store in store spy keeps snapshots of it over time, so you can see how a competitor's catalogue changes instead of only seeing what it looks like today.
Track a store
- Open /app/store-spy and look up the store by its domain.
- Choose the option to track the store.
- The store is added to your tracked stores, and PixelSpyer keeps snapshots of it over time.
To stop tracking a store, remove it from your tracked stores. This frees up a slot for another store.
Why track a store
Snapshots help you answer questions such as:
- Has the store added or removed products?
- Have prices gone up or down?
- Did the product count grow before a new round of ads?
- Which products stayed in the range while others were dropped?
Pair tracked stores with the brand tracker to watch both sides of a competitor: what they sell and how they advertise.
How many stores you can track
| Plan | Tracked stores |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Starter | 10 |
| Pro | 50 |
| Agency | 200 |
Tips
- Start with your closest competitors. On Free you have one slot, so use it on the store you most want to follow.
- Look at changes, not just totals. A small store adding products in your niche can tell you more than a large store's overall count.
- Check the ads too. When a tracked store's catalogue changes, look at its ads to see whether it is advertising the new products.
If a store cannot be looked up
Store spy works with public Shopify stores, and some stores block access. If a store's catalogue cannot be shown, you may not be able to track it. You can still find ads pointing to its domain with the Domain scope in Discover on Starter and up.
