Product detail page (PDP)
The individual product page on an online store that shows images, description, price, reviews and the add-to-cart button.
A product detail page, or PDP, is the page on an online store dedicated to a single product. It typically includes product images or video, a title, price, variant options, a description, delivery and returns information, reviews and an add-to-cart button. For many paid social campaigns, the PDP is also the landing page.
Key elements
- Images and video: multiple angles, scale, the product in use and close-ups of important details.
- Title and price: clear and visible on mobile without scrolling.
- Benefits before features: explain what the product does for the customer, then list specifications.
- Social proof: ratings near the title and reviews further down.
- Shipping and returns: delivery times and costs stated plainly.
- Trust signals: payment options, guarantees and contact information.
- Upsells and bundles: relevant add-ons that can lift AOV.
Why it matters for ads
The PDP is where ad traffic either converts or leaves. If an ad promises a specific benefit and the page leads with something else, visitors can lose confidence quickly. Aligning the page with your main ad angles often helps conversion rate.
In practice
- Review your PDP on a phone, since most social traffic is mobile.
- Test variations of the first screen: image order, headline and price presentation.
- Use customer questions and support tickets to find gaps in the description.
- Look at how successful stores in your category structure their pages; Store Spy can help you inspect Shopify stores.
