As a Speech and Language Therapist, there are a few things I’ve learned that become even more important when I take off my therapist hat and put on my mum hat. ✨ Children learn through connection. ✨ Language opportunities are everywhere. ✨ Progress doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s. ✨ Play doesn’t always need a purpose. In a world full of milestones, comparisons, flashcards and “shoulds,” it’s easy to feel like you’re not doing enough. But some of the most powerful things you can do for your child’s communication happen in the everyday moments: 💛 chatting on a walk 💛 playing with a cardboard box 💛 following their lead 💛 simply enjoying being together Your child doesn’t need perfection. They need connection. Save this for the days parenting feels overwhelming, and send it to another parent who needs the reminder. 🤍 #SpeechAndLanguageTherapy #ToddlerLanguageDevelopment #ParentingSupport #EarlyCommunication #speechtherapist
